Last night we received the resignation of County Administrator and Mens Secretary Peter Lee. We would like to thank Peter for all the hard work he has put in during his time in office.
Last night I informed the Executive Meeting of Bowls Bedfordshire of my decision not to seek re-election as County Administrator or as Men’s Secretary at the Annual General Meeting in December.
The horrible pandemic that we have had to face this year has meant a break from bowls and means that a lot of the jobs that I would have been doing in my roles will not need to be done, so maybe will give my successor a slightly gentler initiation into the posts.
I have been involved in administration of bowls in various capacities with the Linslade club, the County, the Eastern Counties and the London Welsh since 1981 and I feel that now is the time to call it a day.
It has been a privilege to be involved with the administration of the County since 2007 first as Treasurer then Secretary of Beds CBA and latterly County Administrator and Men’s Secretary of Bowls Bedfordshire. A county I was honoured to lead as the first President of the new organisation in 2012.
It is not my intention to be going anywhere and I will always be on hand to give advice, if required, to my successors.
