The County Season came a successful conclusion at Wilstead on Sunday (9th September).
The premier event, the Harmsworth Cup was won for the 30th time by Luton Town who defeated Meltis 96 by 83 shots to 58.
The morning’s Pell Shield final was very one sided with Sandy Conservatives winning for the first time since 2013 against a Linslade team who were appearing in their first County Final in 60 years. The score was 100-36.
The mixed Pairs saw new names on the trophy with Mark Curtis (Meltis 96) and Diane Curtis (Ampthill) making a strong challenge over the last few ends to defeat previous winners Sandra Knell and Andrew Manning of Sharnbrook by 27-22.
The Crawley Cup saw another first as a triple from Potton skipped by the inimitable Leigh James became the first from the Club to end up as winners, defeating John Clayton (Beech Hill) in a close finish 16-14.
The Tompkins proved to be an all Sandy Town affair when friends and long time playing partners Mick Evans and Ray Swinnerton ended with Evans winning 21-17.
