Fellow Bowlers

It is an honour to be your President and represent Bowls Bedfordshire for the 2023 Season. I look forward to meeting more of you on and off the green during the coming year.

I would like to thank my club, Luton Town for nominating me as county President.

I have been a member of Luton Town for over forty-five years. Although It has been a difficult few years for the club since leaving Bowling Green Lane, the members have done a lot of work both on and off the green and we are now settled at our new home.

I am looking forward to working with the members of the Men’s Executive and would like to welcome Peter Lee of Linslade to the Executive Committee as our new Bowls England Representative. I would also like to thank Pat Geary for all the work he has done for Bowls Bedfordshire in various roles over a long and illustrious bowling career as he steps back from the Bowls England Representative role.

I would also like to congratulate Rod Garrett for his work as President during the last year, leading us through challenging times.

My aim for 2023 is to carry out the office of President to the high standard that has been set by all those who have gone before me and keep the name of Bowls Bedfordshire at the forefront.

My Charity for 2023 is Keech Hospice Care, a charity which I’m sure you will agree does great work in local communities and I’m sure your will be supportive of this great cause.

Finally, I would like to wish all bowlers a healthy and successful season.

Best Wishes

Rollie Cawdell

Bedfordshire Ladies

As you know, we have no Ladies President this year which, although disappointing, has given our Ladies Past Presidents an opportunity to step into the spotlight again, practice their speeches and take on the role of Acting President for each of our 2023 county matches and other presidential duties.  This will also include Barbara Carter, our Immediate Past President, who stood as President for two years during the most difficult of times and the County thanks Barbara for her continued valuable commitment.

No President, means no President's charity - but if we know the ladies of Bedfordshire, you will again dig deep and help us to raise money for the most worthy of causes at this time - NHS Charities Together.

Good luck to everyone in your competitions this year and we look forward to seeing you on the green.

Best wishes
