7th Annual Men Against Prostate Cancer Bowls Spectacular held at Houghton Regis Club on Sunday 27th September 2026

Again, we were fortunate on the day that the weather was ideal and the intended 25 ends were completed with a comfort break after 15 ends.
Initially, due to late unexpected family issues, Mick Harford was unable to attend.
As previous years, 48 bowlers, (12 teams of 4), comprising 12 ladies and 36 men. Teams randomly drawn with 1 lady per team. Winning Team received trophies.
A large supporting turn-out, approximately 150, ensured the day was a great success and their enjoyed by all those who attended. There were two prizes for those woods nearest to the spider. Also, three prizes for those considered best in the fancy-dress, against strong competition.
However, the deserved winner of the day was Prostate Cancer UK as a total sum of £2585.00 was raised and donated to provide ongoing research against this serious medical condition.
On behalf of the charity and myself, a huge “thank you” to all those involved for their continued support and generous contribution.
Sincerely,
Taff (Norman) Owens
