COUNTY LEAGUE
Thank you to clubs for asking the question of whether the County League should go ahead during the extreme heat weather warning.
As this is a domestic competition the Men’s Executive have issued the following statement.
Due to the Extreme Heat Warning on Wednesday the 24th of June 2026 we recommend that the fixtures for that date be postponed and played at a mutually acceptable date with your opponent before the 26th of August 2026 when the league will close.
All games that have not been completed by that date will be forfeit by both teams.
NATIONAL PAIRS
Following discussions with Gordon McCann we have decided that these Men’s Pairs matches must go ahead on the planned dates, as we are on a strict deadline to complete the rounds.
Our suggestion would be to either play the round in the morning if mutually agreeable with the club and opponent or start at 7pm in the evening, if mutually agreeable to miss the worst of the heat.
We would ask clubs hosting these matches to have water available or the bar open for refreshments.
I know this is not ideal, but the schedule does not give us any leeway.
