On Sunday we held the first session of our youth academy with 6 youngsters from the county attending. The aim of the academy is to develop each and every young bowler to achieve their full potential in sport performance and character development. To produce a hotbed of talent and future champions whose progress can be measured using the 16 bowls skills challenge.
Our aim is develop these young bowlers into successful club, County and National status player through a holistic coaching programme.
As coaches we were delighted with the enthusiasm and potential of the young bowlers. Perhaps next year we will be able to enter the White Rose or Amy Rose competition! The next session is on 6th August at Potton Bowls Club and if anyone missed the first session its still possible to join us on the day.
