Walker Cup

Thank you to Maulden Bowls Club who hosted the competition which consisted of teams from Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Our first game was against Berkshire we won on 2 rinks and lost on 1 rink by only 2 shots.

We finished in 2nd place with Oxfordshire being in 1st place we were plus 4 and Oxfordshire plus 8.

In the second game against Buckinghamshire, we lost on 2 rinks and drew this put us in 3rd place with Oxfordshire being top and Buckinghamshire were 2ndplace.

Our final game Oxfordshire was against a very strong team which included current and ex international players, they did get a little panicky at 8 ends the Oxford triples were 16-6 down and they pulled back and we won 21-20. In the pairs we were 3-17 down at 8 ends but our pairs kept plugging away and on end 13 they were only 14-21 down, their opponents were getting a little stressed and we lost 17-26. The fours lost 10-17.
